How to have a successful eLearning Day!

K-12 Teachers- please follow the following guidelines below:
- Teachers need to be available from 9 am to 3 pm. Available means that you should respond to student and parent questions within 30-45 minutes.
- All lesson objectives need to be posted on itslearning or communicated by 9 am. Contact your principal if you face difficulties on that day.
- Lesson must be in the natural flow of your curriculum. You should not use or have a bank of lessons for eLearning days.
- Lessons should last the amount of time you would normally have your students for that day.
- Students can't work on eLearning Day assignments during class when they return.
- Make sure you talk with your students and student support staff to honor IEPs and 504s in an appropriate manner.
- Please find out what your student's plans are for an eLearning Day. Spreadsheet to help track your students.
How to have a successful eLearning Day!
- Practice! Make sure your students know where find lessons and ask for help within itslearning.
- Follow the UDL framework when designing your online environment. Provide options for engagement, representation, and action and expression. Try to include your voice in your lesson!
- Follow this guide to help plan for students with high tech, low tech, and no tech.
- Communicate with your students through itslearning, email, social media, remind.com, etc.
- Think outside the box in lesson development. Think of things that kids can do around the house.
- Be flexible. Students may work on the learning objectives at anytime after you have them posted.
